Уряд Ірландії на засіданні 17 серпня затвердив нову програму допомоги українським біженцям – безкоштовне навчання на курсах та виплату стипендії.
У 2022/2023 навчальному році українці, які проживають в Ірландії та отримали статус біженця можуть взяти участь у програмі. Міністр освіти, професійних навичок, інновацій та наукових досліджень Ірландії Саймон Харріс заявив, що наразі в Ірландії мешкає 45 0000 українців, всі вони намагаються активно приймати участь у житті країни, тому уряд вирішив надати їм можливість отримати освіту та в подальшому роботу.
Згідно програми Post Leaving Certificate Courses будь-яка особа може отримати доступ до курсів сертифікації. Навчання проводиться з різних дисциплін: сільське господарство, лісове господарство, рибальство, ветеринарна освіта та інше. З вересня для біженців курси стануть безкоштовними. Також для студентів передбачена стипендія. Загальна її сума становить 6115 євро, виплачувати ці гроші будуть протягом року, щомісячно.
Також раніше влада Ірландії наголошувала, що система освіти країни може прийняти 41 000 студентів-біженців з України. В школах країни виділили близько 25 000 місць для українських дітей.
