В умовах постійної нестабільності Польща зміцнює свій оборонний потенціал. Так, у березні 2024 року Польща разом з Францією та Естонією звернулись до Єврокомісії, щоб отримати додаткове фінансування на проекти озброєнь. Таким чином, додаткове фінансування оборони Польщі, Франції та Естонії допоможе укріпити власну армію та збільшити свою обороноздатність.
В офіційному листі пропонується створити спеціальний фонд для фінансування проектів озброєнь. Було вказано, що для збереження міжнародної безпеки в сучасних умовах просто необхідно бути готовим до будь-якої ситуації. Росія з часом зможе відновити свій потенціал. Саме тому додаткове фінансування оборони Польщі, Франції та Естонії сприятиме швидкому нарощуванню виробництва озброєння, закупки додаткової техніки та для розвитку власних підприємств.
Було наголошено на можливості зберігання боєприпасів у великих кількостях. Таким чином, країни не будуть залежати одна від одної і зможуть самостійно протистояти загрозі. Також зможуть надавати військову підтримку Україні.
Держави наголосили на тому, що необхідно посилити оборонну промисловість саме на довгострокову перспективу, щоб забезпечити максимальний рівень безпеки та в кризових ситуаціях та протистояти агресору.
Звернення трьох країн відбулось якраз до оголошення оборонної стратегії, яку підготувала Європейська комісія. Це було необхідно для того, щоб внести ці витрати у багаторічний бюджет ЄС, адже без цього може бути лише збільшення поточних витрат.
