Українських чоловіків не позбавлятимуть у ФРН статусу біженців. Відмова в наданні консульських послуг, наприклад, у продовженні терміну дії паспорта не вплине на статус українських чоловіків, які перебувають у Німеччині як біженці. Чи залишать статус біженців для українських чоловіків тепер стало більш зрозуміло.

«Я впевнений у тому, що це не вплине на статус біженців з України, які потребують захисту. Незалежно від того, чи йдеться про жінок, яких серед таких біженців переважна більшість, або чоловіків». Так офіційний представник МВС ФРН Максиміліан Каль (Maximilian Kall) відповів 24 квітня на запитання кореспондента DW щодо можливих наслідків рішення МЗС України. Мова як відомо йшла про тимчасове призупинення надання консульських послуг для громадян чоловічої статі віком від 18 до 60 років, які перебувають за кордоном.
Рішення МЗС України в Берліні прокоментували так:
Такий захищений статус українські біженці мають у всіх країнах Європейського Союзу. Адже такі мігранти були змушені покинути батьківщину, рятуючись від російської агресії. Таку думку висловив Каль на урядовій пресконференції в Берліні.
Водночас ані він, ані прессекретар німецького міністерства закордонних справ не захотіли коментувати рішення Києва. Припинити консульське обслуговування українських чоловіків призовного віку, які перебувають, зокрема, і в Німеччині це справа Києва. «Це суверенне рішення України, яке я не можу коментувати від імені МЗС ФРН», – заявив представник цього відомства Крістіан Вагнер (Christian Wagner).
