У німецькому місті Мангейм на ринковій площі стався напад: чоловік, озброєний ножем, атакував критика ісламу Міхаеля Штюрценбергера. Про це повідомляє видання Welt, як передає “Європейська правда”.
Після нападу на Штюрценбергера, зловмисник також напав на поліцейського. Інший офіцер поліції застрелив нападника. Поліція не змогла одразу уточнити, скільки людей постраждало і наскільки серйозні їхні поранення. Прессекретар поліції запевнив, що громадськості нічого не загрожує.
Мотив нападу поки що не встановлено. Слідство розглядає можливість політичного підґрунтя нападу. На місці події працюють рятувальники, а також прибув рятувальний гелікоптер. Поліція оточила ринкову площу і встановила захисні екрани.
Партія “Громадянський рух Pax Europa” (BPE), до якої належить Штюрценбергер, підтвердила в своїй заяві, що напад стався під час мітингу BPE в Мангеймі близько 11:30 ранку. Внаслідок нападу Штюрценбергер та інші помічники отримали важкі поранення.
Ринкова площа Мангейма знаходиться в центрі міста, населення якого складає близько 300 тисяч осіб, на півночі федеральної землі Баден-Вюртемберг.
У квітні цього року в університеті Мангейма поліція застрелила чоловіка, який, за словами свідків, був озброєний мачете. Того ж місяця на сході Франції чоловік з ножем напав на школярок віком 11 і 7 років поблизу школи.
