Німецька компанія Uniper здобула багатомільярдну перемогу в арбітражному суді проти свого колишнього постачальника, російського енергетичного гіганта “Газпром”. Про це повідомляє агентство Reuters, пише “Європейська правда”.

Ця перемога стала важливим досягненням для Uniper, яку німецькому уряду довелося рятувати у 2022 році після того, як “Газпром” спочатку скоротив, а потім повністю припинив постачання газу. Компанія змушена була купувати газ на спотовому ринку за надзвичайно високими цінами, щоб компенсувати відсутні обсяги.
Uniper повідомила, що рішення арбітражного суду у Стокгольмі від 7 червня дозволило їй розірвати чинні контракти на постачання газу, які юридично залишалися в силі, хоча постачання фактично не відбувалося. Це розірвання контрактів усуває головний ризик перед запланованим поверненням Uniper на фондову біржу в наступному році.
Це рішення стало частиною процесу, розпочатого компанією наприкінці 2022 року. Суд присудив Uniper компенсацію в розмірі понад 13 мільярдів євро за обсяги газу, які “Газпром” не поставив з середини 2022 року.
Хоча рішення про компенсацію є значною перемогою для Німеччини, малоймовірно, що великі суми будуть виплачені. “Газпром експорт”, експортний підрозділ російської компанії, успішно оскаржив справу в суді Санкт-Петербурга. У березні суд постановив, що Uniper та її дочірня компанія будуть оштрафовані на 14,3 мільярда євро, якщо вони продовжать арбітражний розгляд.
